To Aunt Doris and my cousins from Dave & Dawn Mac Gillivary. I can only thank Omer for his help as I grew up in Williams Point. He was a great help during my times and visits to the co-op. On behalf of all the "children" of James & Marie Walsh on Cloverville Road, I extend sincere condolences to the family of Omer MacGillivray. My parents were long-time customers of the Co-op. Omer made weekly trips to deliver the groceries when I was a child growing up. We all remember him for being so pleasant, cheerful, and kind. Omer was a loyal friend to my grandparents, Kay and Levis Desjardins. I have childhood memories of Omer coming through the door with a box of groceries from the Co-op, and in later years he brought their Christmas tree. He was so good to them. My condolences to your family on the loss of a kind and generous man.

Dad spoke very highly and often of your grandparents. They could each tell a great story. I remember visiting them with Dad more than a few times. Kay would often ask Dad to do this or that leaving me alone with your grandfather. Levis could barely wait to tell me how much he thought of Dad. Of course, at first I wondered if he was just being polite. After hearing thirty different choruses of praise from each Levis and Kay, I learned they adored Dad.

To all the Family - we are so sorry for your loss. Omer was always so very kind and gentle to everyone. Us girls would run around the house and up the stairs to visit with Vi and Heather and never a harsh word was spoken to any of us! As kids we were always excited when Omer drove into the driveway. He always had a cheery hello and my mom was always so pleased to see him. The beautiful video spoke volumes on his love for Doris, his kids, grandkids and great grandkids – as well as the true enjoyment that his son-in-law’s had when they were around. Omer had the gift of never judging and accepting us as we were - gangling fun loving teens and I am so thankful he was a part of my youth! Thank you Omer - fly high! Jeff and Kathleen Robertsson
