Aunt Betty was always a constant in my life growing up. She was just down the road and her door was always opened for a visit. Betty was kind, funny, and her love for family was evident. She cared for many children being a home - based care giver. I'm sure those who Betty cared for, they will have many loving memories. I always remember talking child care issues with Betty she was a mentor for me as a young teacher. She always said something I needed to hear or I always took away a new found knowledge that Betty offered me. I will remember her support and our great visits. Dear Kathy, Brian, Barry, Carole Anne and Brenda and families, I will never forget your mom, Betty. She was a bright light in my life during a very difficult time. I can still hear her laugh and love the way that she was so direct and honest. I will remember her kindness and help when we were both having Nial and Brenda. She was so smart and perceptive. While we had not been in touch in many years I would think of her often and know that she was probably whipping people into shape over in Nova Scotia! I have no doubt that you will miss her dearly. Our deepest sympathy to Barry and all the family. When Alred and Betty were moving to PEI, Alfred hired dad to do some work before they arrived. Dad passed away before he could finish, when they came in the summer Alred came to pay mom, she never knew where he worked. Mom always said he paid her way too much. The blessing was we met two of the kindest, down to earth people. Fond memories of Betty and Alfred. May she RIP. Love Rita and Roanne Donahoe God Bless!
