There are no words to express the shock and heartbreaking sadness that followed at the word of Darlene's sudden death. All of her St Martha's Community has been touched over the years by her presence, her kindness, her professionalism, her compassion for others, her patience, her caring approach and of course that beautiful smile that she greeted you with every day. Many of us have had the privilege to work with Darlene for decades. She had, and displayed so much respect for her patients and their families, always giving little tidbits of advice, to make recovery go smoother, that they grabbed with earnest, respect to her direct co-workers in the rehab department, whom she shared her knowledge with freely, and to her other St. Martha's' colleagues, whom she worked so closely with, guiding them into the total care of the patient. Her quiet approach was so welcomed and never a harsh word expressed.
She was truly a gem of a women to have known, and she displayed the same kindness each and every day. She will be so missed.
To the Murrant and MacDonald families, she was yours, and my sincere sympathies as you struggle to make some sense of this tremendous loss of Darlene in your lives. I will have prayers for you all as you attempt to navigate through these dark and saddest of days. She will be in your hearts forever and your beautiful memories with help as you grieve her loss.
Rest easy Darlene!
