So sorry for your loss . Leonard & I were long time school chums! Spent many hours together doing various “chum “ things , hockey , baseball, tennis,,etc,,, During a recent trip to Nova Scotia I tried contacting Leonard but failed only to learn a few days later of his passing ! My deepest condolences to Mr. Hanrahan's family. He was my very favorite teacher in high school. He was always so kind to me and took extra time to help me with art projects during his metal class. He was so accepting and impacted me so much throughout my high school career. I will never forget him and all his peppermint patties.

To the family of Len please accept my condolences. He was a teacher of mine in Guysbrough who had a huge impact on my life. His wisdom, humour and guidance have been valuable to me and to many other students as well. I have caught up with him one or two times while passing through Antigonish and always enjoyed the opportunity to say hello. I wish you all peace as you mourn his passing. my son Derek Hanrahan said it best: " a good man who led a great life , whatever his age was,he lived twice that much" We Hanrahans in USA had many visits from Len always fun.great stories ,Barbara called him a "rogue"...he liked that.!! condolences to all who loved lennie. a kind, funny, generous man. he helped me in many ways. when i brought my kids to antigonish 15 yrs ago, he put us up and was a GREAT "uncle" to them. they still talk about that visit and remember it vividly. he will be missed very much.

He was my cousin, my friend, and my lifelong hero. He would swoop in and be there for me no matter what was going on. Not family by blood, but with a great friendship that started in The Gambia (West Africa) over a drink 40 years ago. To us he was affectionately known as "John Canada". Over the years travelling with him to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Paris, Beirut, Hamburg, Copenhagen have kept with us wonderful memories that we will always cherish. Thankful that we found the time to make a trip this summer to "Seabright" one last time and enjoy a week with him. There will always be a special place in our hearts for our great friend and brother.
