Our family were neighbours of Angus Walker in Port Hastings. We knew his parents and sister better than "Young Angus" as he was already on his way to his musical stardom when we were kids. The family owned the community canteen, a place where everyone gathered at a certain age while Angus roasted hot dogs on an electric spit of some sort. We were quite fascinated by it, not to mention the pinball machine in the corner. Angus and Isabel were always overly generous with the penny candy that we sometimes bought with cashed in pop bottles. We all knew "Young Angus" was a singer. Our sincerest and heartfelt condolences to his family. Bobby, Laureen, Richard, Darrell, Harvey, Brent and Harolyn Beaton formerly of Port Hastings.

There are not many people that leave a legacy that Mr. Angus Walker has done. How I enjoyed our chats with him as well as picking a few tunes. May you rest in peace my friend, "Walking in Jerusalem just like John"

My condolences to the entire family of Angus Walker. My name is Hank Brennan from North Vancouver, BC. I was planning a cross country trip next summer to revisit places and people from my past adventures. Visiting Angus would have been my final stop on the trip. This was important to me as he was the first entertainer who introduced me to the music world. I was his bass player in "The Cabinet" in 1973. Those wonderful times are still so vivid in my mind and always will be. Seeing him one last time was to be the highlight of my trip which unfortunately will not happen. I'm so sad that I didn't get the opportunity to thank him in person for everything he did to help me further my career as a musician. May he rest in eternal peace.

We have lost another good one. I knew Angus well. Many times I performed his song "Crazy Tricks" and sat on his front steps in Port Hastings at 2 am talking about country music. My condolences to Shannon and Elaine and their loved one. May Angus Rest In Peace. Fred Swain, Dartmouth, NS (I grew up in Port Hastings, NS)

I knew Angus for years when he first came to Antigonish, he was telling me about his singing career, he called me Oprah every time we ran into each other we’d laugh and I said I wish I had her money, Angus was a very likeable and kindhearted man, May Angus Rest In Heavenly Peace

I am very saddened to hear that Angus has passed away. About 20 years ago he was temporarily living in my son’s isolated cabin in Ashdale, Antigonish County, My wife made a Christmas dinner for him and I took it out to him. He was immensely grateful and sang me a few songs. I was astounded by his musical talent. I told this story in my book ‘Walks By Big Alex’s Pond’.
