Obituary of Christina May Bowie

BOWIE (HENDSBEE), Christina May (Tina)  81  It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our wonderful Mom, Nana, Old Nan, sister, aunt and friend Tina Bowie. Mom was born in Halfway Cove, Guysborough County, on April 29, 1944 to the late Kenneth and Clara (Greencorn) Hendsbee.

She is survived by children, Patrick, High River, AB; Donna (Terry), Ulysses, KS; and Kim (Sherman) Lower West Pubnico; grandchildren Kayla (Michael); Amber (Chris); Kendal; Hannah (Bradley); Madeline (Bronson); and Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Ellison, Daniel, Ronan and Emmie. Siblings Evelyn (late John A.); Douglas; and Arnold (Phyllis); several nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by siblings John, Lewis, Eva, Percy (in infancy), Kenneth, Raymond and Leo,(in infancy).  

Later in life Mom became a Personal Care worker, a job she truly enjoyed and did with caring and compassion for all she cared for.

As per Mom’s wishes there will be no service or funeral.  We would like to thank the staff of the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home for the great care they gave Mom over the last two years.  Her nephew Terry MacDonald who was  always there for her and her special friend Mary MacInnis for all her time spent visiting Mom.
