Obituary of Paul Brown

Please share a memory of Paul to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

The family is saddened to announce the sudden passing of Paul Augustine Edward Brown, 40, of McArras Brook, Antigonish Co. on October 8, 2025, at home.

Paul was born on May 18, 1985, in Antigonish to parents Ed and Cathy (MacDonald) Brown.

Paul attended high school at Dr. John Hugh Gillis Regional High where he excelled playing football for The Royals. He then went on to NSCC to obtain his Carpentry Certificate and worked for a number of years before heading out to Alberta to work as a Surveyor.

Paul is survived by his parents, Ed and Cathy; brother Jerry (Tina) and nephew Hunter, New Glasgow, PEI; sister Jillian, Antigonish; and of course, his 4-legged side-kick, Ella. He is also survived by uncles, Bernie (Laurel Goodwin) MacDonald, New Glasgow; Gary (Raquel) Brown, Oakville, ON; John (Nora) Brown, Annapolis Royal; aunts Bibby (Bruce) Anderson, Grand Bay-Westfield, NB; Carole (Ernie) Connors, Bayfield; Janice (John-Hugh) Gillis, Antigonish, and numerous cousins and friends.

Paul is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Gus and Maisie (MacKenzie) Brown, and maternal grandparents, Jim (The Stonehouse) and Annie (MacEachern) MacDonald; uncle Donald (Anne) MacDonald, and special aunt, Dodie MacDonald.

The family would like to acknowledge family members and neighbours John and Marion MacEachern, for all of their support on that difficult day.

Paul's kindness, quick wit, and humour will be missed by all who knew him.

There will be no visitation. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA.
