Obituary of Patrick Michael Heron

In the early morning hours of December 9, 2025 our brother Mick finally found his peace. After many years of struggles and trials, Mickey is finally at rest and reunited with the person he loved the most, our mom.

A tragic accident at a young age changed Mickey’s life forever. Although confined to a wheelchair, he never let it confine his life. He kept up with his many friends and found a career as an award winning goldsmith making beautiful, timeless pieces of jewelry and art.

Horses, cars and car racing were important to him as was wheelchair basketball. He was a proud member of the NS Flying Wheels team.

His years in Halifax were supported by his caring sister Paula who gave generously of her time and energy for which the entire family is grateful. Since returning to Antigonish, Robbie MacInnis provided him with friendship and support.

Predeceased by our parents, Pat and Margie Heron, Mick is survived by his sisters Tish, Quesnel, BC; Cathy (Owie) Grant, Mahoney’s Beach; Susan (Stephen) Doiron, Pomquet; Paula (Marty)Murrin, Pictou; and Pam (Richard) Heron, Victoria, BC; and his long supportive brother and friend Bobby (Carmen), Saint John, NB.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 13, 2025 in St. Ninian Cathedral, Reverend Donald MacGillivray presiding.
