Dear Phil, Lee Ann, Joe, Allan, and families, please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Greg. We are so happy that we went home at Christmas to spend some time with Greg and the family. We have wonderful memories of that and many other great memories over other years in Lanark and in the backyard at Silverwood. Riley and Mairi considered Phil and Greg as a second set of grandparents since the kids were so young when my parents passed. It was great to talk with Greg about hockey, sports, current affairs, and history around town and county and the many connections between people. I will miss that very much. Greg will always be close when we think of the good times. I’m sure the same for you all. May Greg rest in peace until we meet again. God Bless you all during this sad and difficult time.
Kim, Richard, Riley, and Mairi

Phil,LeeAnn,Joe,Allan,Linus,Doug and entire family members and many friends of Greg, I extend my deepest sympathy to each of you on the passing of this wonderful man. When meeting up with Greg at anytime, it was always a complete pleasure to share a chat and a story. He was the kindest man and extra kind to his Aunt….my Mom, Rita. The visits made to her by you Phil, and Greg were most enjoyable and filled her heart with love. I am out of the country, so I am unable to attend the visitation or funeral of this sweet man. I will remember his laugh the most! May you be surrounded by the comfort and support of all those who care about your families, as you celebrate his life. He will be greeted with open arms by all those gone before him…With love and hugs to all….

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to Phil, Allan, Joe, and Lee Ann on the loss of your dear husband and Dad. I knew Greg when he was a painter at St. Andrew Junior High School many years ago. He was a very warm, kind and gracious man who also had a wonderful sense of humour. I enjoyed his company there on several occasions while we were working at our jobs.
May he rest in peace, and may you all find comfort and God's many blessings in the days ahead. I will remember you all in my masses and prayers.
God bless. Joe Chesal

I have had the great pleasure of meeting Greg (Bucka) and Phil over the past several years, through our daughter Kristen. Greg always impressed me with his calm demeanor, sense of humor and his deep love of his grand daughter, Jami.
We spoke of hockey and his "favorite team", and talked current events, a bit of politics and a lot about family. It was very evident that family was his greatest passion. I also got the sense he was a spiritual man.
He was a man who made me feel welcomed in his home and the last time I was there, we enjoyed a couple of "pops" together.
There will be many things said about this wonderful man over the next little while; people passionately pouring out their love and respect of his profound wisdom and intelligence, that he sometimes delivered in the most simplest way...
Personally, I want to express my gratitude and blessings that our Kristen found Greg and Phil through her best friend, Jami.
This deep friendship lead to her connection to Greg and Phil. Both my and Nancy's parents passed away before Kristen was old enough to form deep bonds. She remembers my dad some, but he was gone when she was young.
I say this through a profound sense of gratitude, that Kristen was very blessed to meet, know, and love two wonderful, loving people who became her surrogate grandparents. Both Nancy and I are eternally grateful for this!
Knowing the man Greg was, I leave you with two quotes that comfort me in times of grief and loss. It speaks of loss and sacrifice so others may thrive and I see Bucka as that type of man.
"...my name is made illustrious there by the light of his...It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest I go to than I have ever known. "
And finally, knowing Greg's spirituality I leave you with words that comfort me.
"Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones; and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace. God is awake. "
All our love and condolences,
Kevin and Nancy Scully
