Greg tells the story of the tree in the background of this photo. The tree is also in an early photo of Greg and his brothers at the Campbell homestead in Harbour Centre. As per Greg's account, the tree was struck by lightning in the 40s and survived to tell the story. If you inspect the tree up close now, in 2026, you can still see the scar from the strike. It is a nice little testimony to strength in nature and is quite remarkable that it is still standing after all the storms we have had. I was grateful that Greg shared that little piece of natural history with me.
