Obituary of Mary Ann Duggan
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Duggan in Twin Oaks Hospital at the age of 81. She was born in Croft, Antigonish County.
Mary Ann graduated from Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing as a LPN in 1969. She worked a short time in the infirmary before returning to Antigonish to work at RK MacDonald Nursing Home, where she worked for 32 years. She was a coordinator of the Independent Living Unit for 10 years at RK MacDonald. She enjoyed going to work every day and loved her patients.
She was a very hard worker. She loved country music. Mary Ann and Ann Grace would go dancing on Saturdays anywhere from Saint Andrews to Cape Breton and Guysborough. She really enjoyed Newfie Fever and John Drake.
We want to thank Dr. Ross Leighton and his staff for looking after her for many years. She loved them all and they were so good to her. Also, thank you to the Gavin girls for all their help and visits. They were her angels. Also special thanks to the staff at Twin Oaks Hospital for being so kind to her.
Mary Ann is survived by her twin sister Annie (Ann) Eisan, brother-in-law Mansel Eisan and special nephew Trevor Eisan. Mary Ann was predeceased by her mother Catherine, Aunt Nora, Uncle Jimmie, Uncle Alex and Uncle Joe. She is also survived by many cousins and relatives in Ontario and BC who were very special to her.
