Kathleen Isabelle (Kaye) Chisholm, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026, in the RK MacDonald Nursing Home in Antigonish. She was 94 years old.

Born on April 20, 1932, in Guysborough Intervale, Kaye was the daughter of the late John Thompkins and Mary Jane (Fraser) Chisholm. She received her early education in Guysborough and completed her high school education at St. Joseph Convent in Mabou. This educational foundation set the stage for a dedicated and fulfilling career.

Kaye began her professional journey in Guysborough, later moving to Halifax, where she made a lasting impact as an executive assistant in the Department of the Attorney General until her retirement. In 2019, she returned to Antigonish to be closer to her family, embracing a new chapter in her life.

Known for her loyalty and warmth, Kaye was deeply devoted to her family. She delighted in shopping trips, especially with her sister Bernadine, to Mills Brothers, where she was greeted by name. Her social circle in Halifax was vibrant, filled with friends with whom she enjoyed dining out and sharing a glass of wine. Kaye also embraced new interests post-retirement, including bowling and golf, showcasing her zest for life and love of fun.

Kaye is survived by her brothers, Roddie (Jean) and Jack (Agnes), along with a loving family of nieces and nephews with whom she shared special bonds: Janet (Colin), Paula (Doug), Patricia (Norm), Gerard (Terry), Kathleen (Gary), David (Wendy), Mark, Heather (Cory), Glenn (Sarah), Gary, Donnie (Sandra), Terry, Brenda (Gary), and several grandnieces and nephews, as well as one great-grandniece.

She was predeceased by her dear sisters, Bernadine (Frank) Purcell and Margaret Janet, her twin brother Gerald Douglas, and her special friend Don Power.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant Street, Antigonish. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the RK MacDonald Nursing Home Chapel, 64 Pleasant Street, with interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Guysborough Intervale.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Patrick's Cemetery Fund or the RK MacDonald Foundation. 

Kaye will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, laughter, and the warmth she brought to the lives of those around her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
