Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth MacDonald

After a full and exciting life, the death occurred on Monday June 15th of Margaret E MacDonald of Lower South River, Antigonish. Born in Sydney in 1940, she was the daughter of the late Josephine Fougere.

She was a graduate of Holy Angels High, St Martha's School of Nursing, and St F X University.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Gerald, daughter Tracey (Chris), siblings Annette (Jake), Al (Darlene), Jerry, Bob, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother, her daughter Cynthia, and her sister Frances.

She missed being able to golf or play bridge with her sidekick Theresa. A devout Catholic, she believed in God and the power of prayer.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm on Saturday, June 20, 2026 in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish.  Private graveside service will take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Sisters of St Martha.
