Aunt Betty Ann was a whirlwind of energy, good humour, and generosity. As her niece, I always looked forward to spending time in her busy, happy home in Lunenburg, Halifax, Antigonish and Cape George, and at “the interval”. As a child she always greeted me warmly and asked me about my activities, making me feel special that an adult would want to have a conversation with me. I remember the many family gatherings with Aunt Betty Ann as host, with laughter, boisterous conversations, and of course time spent enjoying a spread of beautiful, delicious food all made by Aunt Betty Ann. Visiting her as an adult I enjoyed the tour of the garden at the Cape, a lively conversation about the affairs of the day, and her updates about her dearly loved children and their families. Amid all her many roles she sent me a package every Christmas, of homemade jams and jellies, and her scrumptious “refrigerator” cookies.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Mary, Jim, and all the family of Betty Ballantyne-Webber. We didn't have the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Webber but it sounds like, from her obituary, that she was a fantastic, intelligent, feisty lady!! May she rest in peace.

Betty was a feisty lady and a wonderful friend. She could always be counted on to come up with new ideas for the UCW (United ChurchWomen) for example - to raise money it was Seafood chowder Lunch at the church hall after the Highland Games parade or for community service it was the Hot meal program at the church hall. She didnt' just come up with the idea- she organized it and volunteered her time to work at it! Oh for another Betty Webber.

My condolaaaances on the passing of Betty Webber. Betty was a great friend and mentor to me both as a student minister and as an ordained minister. We had many fun times together and she was a teacher in my daughter Sara's Daycare, before Sara started elementary school.
I hope you have many special memories of Betty and that you are comforted by your faith and the presence of family and friends.

Mary & Jim and all of Betty's Family,
Deepest condolences to all of you. Betty was such a force it is hard to imagine her "departed".
She certainly left her mark on many places and people and was a blessing to countless people. My best memories of her are from sharing a retreat at her home back in the 80's or early 90's. Love and prayers as you remember your life with her, and as you celebrate that life.

To Betty's Family
A wonderful Lady and dear friend has passed and we extend our deepest condolences to you all on your loss. We have so many great memories of your Mom and Dad during our years at Fairview United Church, when Ralph was minister there. Betty was very kind and so easy to meet. She had a tremendous sense of humour and could be a bit mischievous at the appropriate time. We loved that about her. We kept in touch , mainly at Christmas when we caught up on family . She lived a pretty long life and she will be missed. Love and blessings at this sad time.

I will never forget Betty….her kindness, generosity, compassion, empathy, wisdom……you name it!
We shared many great conversations.
Decades ago, when my children were small, just before Christmas, we happened to meet somewhere and had a brief chat. I was distraught. Due to a doozy of a respiratory event, I was very tired, way behind in my Christmas preparations, with company arriving, and nothing baked. Of course, Betty was an experienced listener. A few days later, she arrived at my husband’s office with two plates of cookies and squares! When he brought them home, I burst inti tears ( relief, and gratitude). That gesture of kindness and support was so typical of Betty!
To Betty’s family and friends: heartfelt sympathy and condolences. She will be missed by many, and will be forever fondly remembered by many more.

I worked with Betty in Bedford at the play center and I can tell you a day didn't go by that we engaged in a great laugh!
She was a wonderful woman and an example to us that worked with her. I am so honored to have met her.

Betty was an incredible community member and was a big part of the cooperative movement in Antigonish. I remember being invited for Jiggs Dinner as part of the mini trail board and she was such an amazing hostess. I was driving today and Betty crossed my mind and I smiled thinking about her. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. Thinking of you all.

In Memory of My Great Aunt Betty Anne
Great Aunt Betty Anne opened her arms, her home, and her heart to me countless times throughout my childhood and well into my adult years. She made everyone feel welcome, and some of my happiest memories were made at Betty Anne and Ralph's homes in Antigonish and Cape George.
I can still picture Maggie and Job running out to greet us as we drove up the driveway, tails wagging with excitement. I can smell fresh biscuits and homemade jam served with a cup of tea, and I can still taste the first hand-churned ice cream I ever had. I hear the laughter of the ladies gathered around the cribbage table, Uncle Ralph's stories, and the hilarious skits that had everyone laughing until their sides hurt at Himmie and Margaret's anniversary party.
I remember the comforting aroma of Uncle Ralph's pipe, the sound of CBC Radio playing softly on a rainy afternoon, the warmth of an old quilt after a day at the beach, the smell of the wood stove, and the simple joy of punch and tea sandwiches after church.
Betty Anne and Ralph created a home that was filled with kindness, warmth, and love, and they passed those gifts on to their children. Betty Anne gave us a place where memories were made that have become treasured moments. The sounds, the smells, the tastes, and the laughter will stay with me forever.
Thank you, Great Aunt Betty Anne, for your generosity, your gentle spirit, and for making your home(s) a place where so many of us felt we truly belonged. You will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. I am proud to carry on your name, Elizabeth.
To Betty Anne's sisters, children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and friends: I share in the sorrow of your loss and in the comfort and warmth of memories of a life so beautifully lived.
