Sincere Condolences to RJ and Dianne, and all family members. I got to know Michael when his partner Carmel and I worked together at the Moonlight Restaurant and remained friends until her passing. Michael was a delight to sit and converse with on any topic under the sun… he knew something about everything and his story telling was as entertaining as any entertainer could ever be. He will always be remembered in my mind and heart for his exceptionally wonderful head of hair and beard… LOL.. and his aromatic puff of pipe smoke that seemed to announce his presence and lingered long after his departure. I miss our conversations from years gone by, and hope that he and Carmel have reunited in the afterlife. We still treasure Carmel’s handmade moccasins and a sheepskin vest she made for Marshall. I pray you have both found one another again and remain together until the end of time itself.
With Love & Fondest Memories,
Marshall & Claire Dickson ♥️♥️

I have wonderful memories of growing up next door to Michael, his parents, and siblings. Like his parents, Nin and Mary, Michael was charming and engaged easily. I probably regarded him like a big brother, minus the sibling rivalry!
My condolences to Ninette, Bonita, RJ, and other family members.

Mike was like an Uncle to me. I remember him coming down to the house when I was little and home alone. It being a dark and gusty winter afternoon, I was frightened. I gave him a call and he stayed until mom and dad got home. I remember him coming down on Christmas day and his great, jolly laugh as he sat and talked, told stories. The beautiful baskets Mike and Carmel would bring and the moccasins and birch bark. Mike with his pipe and walking stick, and Pia by his side going down the road-a comforting sight I'll always remember. Not to mention sitting in his chair by the fire, eating a delicious BLT he made, the first one I ever remember having.
Thank you for your kindness and friendship to us over the years, Mike. Rest in peace and love from your old neighbours. Many condolences to Mike's family.

Michael and I met when he visited the library regularly. He and I would discuss his current books, local events, and philosophy- a truly delightful patron. Wishing you all much remembrance and peace.
