Obituary of Eric MacDonald Eisnor

EISNOR, ERIC MACDONALD of Antigonish, formerly of Dartmouth. Eric’s family are very sad to inform you of his death at St. Martha’s Hospital in Antigonish on August 2nd after a long illness with Judy and friends at his side. Born in Halifax on November 26th, 1934, he was the son of the late Anthony F. Eisnor and Marguerite (Morash) of Lunenburg. He grew up on the Edmonds Grounds and often talked about his wonderful childhood on the shores of the North West Arm. He was a teenage life guard on a patrol boat and continued to enjoy sailing and was a long-time member of the Armdale Yacht Club. He had a career in the commercial glass business and was at one time the owner of Scotia Glass and a second career in catering. He will be greatly missed by his wife Judy MacLean and her family, his children Ken (Suzanne), Christine (Jim), Davie of Halifax, his grandchildren Nicholas Eisnor (Krista), Melanie Eisnor, Lyndsay Graham (Christopher), Danielle Ryan (Jeremy), and his darling great granddaughters Abby, Rebecca and Lyla who gave him great joy, his sister-in-law Elaine Eisnor and his nephew Michael. Of special mention is his lifelong friend Ken Bell who will sadly miss him. He is also survived by his beloved cat, George, who was his constant companion during his illness. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Margaret (Foley) the mother of his children and his brother Philip. He moved to Georgeville in 1996 and supported Judy during her nursing career and spent many happy times around the Cape and on their many travels. He was a proud member and past master of Sunrise Lodge in Antigonish and Ad Astra Lodge in Halifax. He was also a proud Shriner and rode in many parades on their trolley. A Memorial service Tuesday at 2pm at the Lion's Den in Antigonish where a Masonic service will take place. The family wish to thank Dr. M.
