Obituary of Carroll Phillip Peters

Carroll Phillip Peters 59, Antigonish, formerly from Lakevale, passed away peacefully at the R.K MacDonald Nursing Home on September 27, 2017. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Billy and Tootise (Marcott) Peters. As one of thirteen children, he loved to be surrounded by small children and was a special uncle to his nieces and nephews. He became a proud member of L’Arche Antigonish where he thrived. There he enjoyed baking, bowling, shooting pool at Dooley’s, skating with players from St.F.X football team, and going to the movies with friends. He also enjoyed therapeutic riding with Clair Reeves and swim sessions the late Hubert Spekkens. His smile won him many friends and he especially loved ladies. Carroll was predeceased by his parents and brother Johnny. He is survived by sisters Rose, Betty (Darrell), Ann (Steve), all of Antigonish Kathie (Norm), New Glasgow, brothers Joe, Saint John, NB, Jim (Annie), Bobby (Kim), Hugh, all of Antigonish, Pat (Cindy), New Glasgow, John(Wynsong), Alaska, Donnie, Alberta, and many nieces and nephews as well as his second family at L’Arche Antigonish. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday October 1st, 2017 in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St, Antigonish. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday October 2, in St. Ninian Cathedral, Rev. Donald MacGillivray officiating. Reception to follow. Burial in St. Columba Parish cemetery, Lakevale. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations in memory may be made to L’Arche Antigonish.
