Obituary of Theresa MacDonald

Theresa MacDonald, 86, passed away October 19, 2017 in Saint Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Antigonish, she was the daughter of the late Angus Hugh and Sadie (Grant) MacDonald of Maryvale. At a young age Theresa attended teacher collage in Truro, and taught for a number of years in Antigonish Co. Later she held various jobs in Antigonish. She returned home to care for her parents, uncle, and friend. Theresa was a devoted catholic and had a great love for animals. She thoroughly loved the monthly dances at the Maryvale Hall. Theresa is survived by sisters Betty (Alex) Chisholm; Catherine, Maryvale; Joyce (Kevin) Maguire, Brampton, Ont.; brother Hugh (Shirlee), Maryvale and many Nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she is predeceased by her sister Mary; brothers-in-law Collie A. MacDonald, and Alex Chisholm; sister-in-law Anna (Frosst) MacDonald, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, October 20th from 2- 4 and 7- 9pm In MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 21st at 1pm at St. Mary’s Church, Maryvale. Rev. Andrew Boyd officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the St. Mary’s Cemetery Fund.
