Obituary of John Huntley MacIsaac
Huntley "Dinger" was born in Antigonish on January 5, 1941 to Mary Kate (MacPherson) and Angus Laughlin MacIsaac. During his working life until his retirement he was a familiar face at the "Casket" where after more than forty years he finished up as company Business Manager. He was an Associate member of ARRAS Branch 59, a former member of The Marian Boy Choir, the Antigonish Legion Pipe Band and a Red Cross Volunteer.
Above all he was a true out doorsman. From childhood days on the farm in Brierly Brook, boy scout camp at Monks Head and Sea Cadets at Point Edward, he evolved to the Fish and Game Society, the Nova Scotia Rifle Association, Scotian Gun Club and the Nova Scotia Retriever Association.
He had an ability to commune with all creatures four legged, furred and finned and could be seen with a horse walking behind him, a dog by his side or a squirrel in his lap.
Huntley blew out his seventy seventh birthday candles on the day of his passing with his wife of fifty seven years, Margaret Ellen (Rudolph), daughter and son in law Tessie and Hugh MacFarlane and his pal "Rosey."
He was the proud Grandpa of Abigale Glashoerster, Jane Anne, Catherine and her husband Cory Young and Rebecca. Great Grandpa of Annalise Glashoerster and John Hugh Young. Brother to Teresa MacIsaac, Lauchie and wife Betty MacIsaac, Gerald and wife Margie. Predeceased by his son George, brother D.G., sisters Donna Lydon and Anne Marie MacKinnon, son in law Robert Glashoerster.
