Obituary of Angela Elizabeth Gough
Angela Elizabeth Gough, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 24th, 2018. Daughter of the late Gordon Brace and Ruby Venita Downey, Angela was born in 1944 in St. James Parish, Barbados. She met and married James Edmund "Jim" Gough in Vancouver in 1969, after immigrating to Canada in search of adventure at age 23.
Jim and Angela raised their family in Lower South River, on a small farm instilling in their five children the old-fashioned values of hard work and self-reliance. Angela loved to cook while listening to music, setting hearty and delicious lunches and suppers on the table like clockwork at noon and 5 for over forty years in their cozy country kitchen. Our mother is a shining example of courage, strength, and dignity.
She is survived by her two daughters, Marina (Jody) Gillis, Sydney, NS and Lavinia (Robert) Carreau, Rosseau, ON, three sons James (Hanoi), Rodney, NS, Patrick, Coomba Park, Australia and John Henry, Halifax; ten grandchildren; and siblings in Ontario, BC, New York, and Barbados. She was predeceased by her husband Jim Gough in 2010 and her brother Ernest Brace.
