MacDonald, Theresa – 81, of Doctor’s Brook, N.S., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving son and family, December 24th, 2013 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Regional Hospital, New Glasgow. Born August 28, 1932, in Maryvale, Antigonish Co., Theresa was the youngest child of the late Daniel R. and Mary Harriet (MacDougall) MacGillivray. Theresa adored having her family around in the summers spending time with all of them at the cottages. She adored her two granddaughters Kayla and Kerry and was very happy to see them especially when they were going to St. F. X. where she could see them more regularly. Since Theresa’s prolonged illness the family was very blessed by all the friends and family who continued to frequently visit her. It was so wonderful to have so many extended family, friends and community members help support the immediate family in their efforts to keep her spirits up. Surviving are her son Gerard (Dara Lee) , granddaughters Kayla and Kerry all of New Glasgow; brother Aubrey, Chino, California; sister Catherine (late Howard) MacDougall, Halifax and many nieces and nephews. Theresa was predeceased by her husband John B. (Jackie) MacDonald in February 2011.
