Obituary of Bride Mary Barton

Age 104, of Gaspereaux Lake and Oakville Ontario, passed away at home on April 15th, 2014. Born Spanish Room NL. Bride was pre-deceased by her husband Robert, her parents John and Catherine Dober (nee: Long) also brothers and sisters James, John, Celestine, Jerry, Catherine and Joseph. She is survived by her sister Alice McCarthy of Oakville Ontario. She will be remembered and sadly missed by a large number of friends and relatives. Bride moved to Sydney NS to work during the 1930’s. She was a very active career woman and moved to Halifax to study and where she worked all through the 2ndWW and after. On a holiday with friends in Ontario she met the man she would marry and moved from Halifax to Ontario. Memorial services will be held later in Little Current Ontario where she will be buried alongside her husband. Her husband was aWW2 veteran and Bride was involved and supportive of the RCL(Royal Canadian Legion) and war veteran issues until her death. Donations in her memory may be made to any branch of the RCL.
