Obituary of Margaret M. MacDonald
MacDonald, Margaret M. (Peggy), 91, of Fatima St. passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish. Born in Lochaber, Antigonish Co. on November 15, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John Angus and Mary (Chisholm) MacDonald of Post Road.
Her favorite past times were bingo, hockey, and politics; but most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. In the last few years she was brought much joy from her great granddaughter. Mom will be dearly missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
She is survived by son Joseph (Sherry), Kentville, NS; daughters Shirley MacGillivray (John A.), Caledonia Mills, NS; Penny Schnepf (Werner), Macken Road, NS; Marguerite Horton (Jamie). Halifax, NS; Mary Hoh, Hanover, New Hampshire; grandchildren Eric (Allie), Sabine (Jon), Emmy (Rob), Michael (Andrea), Angela (Kirby), Stephanie (Niall), Chelsey, Jessica, Lauren, Adam (Roz), Leah (Josh), Joey (Gift), step-grandson Rory, great-granddaughter Alivia and step great-grandson Jaxyn; sisters Rita Fraser, Jean MacIntosh and sister-in-law Sally MacDonald, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph (Miller) MacDonald in 1967; as well as siblings Lauchie, John Andrew, Harry, Albert, Hughie, Catherine (Kate), Elizabeth (Betty) and Laura.
Visitation 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm Tuesday in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St. Antigonish.
Funeral is at 2pm on Wednesday in St. Ninian’s Cathedral, Rev. Donald MacGillivray presiding. Burial in the St. Ninian’s Cemetery.
