Obituary of Allan Anthony MacPhail
Allan Anthony MacPhail, 72, of Fraser's Grant, Antigonish County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish.
Born in Fraser's Grant, he was a son of the late John and Christina (Punch) MacPhail. A lifelong resident of Fraser's Grant, he worked at Central Home Improvement for over 25 years.
Allan enjoyed socializing; especially music, dancing, telling jokes and playing cards. He was a sports enthusiast and an avid hockey fan.
Surviving are companion and best friend Donna Chisholm, Bayfield; brothers, Danny (Theresa), Heatherton; Jerome (Anne), Fraser's Grant; sisters, Catherine (late Alex) MacDonnell, St. Andrews; Jean (late Rory) Grant, Etobicoke, On; Anne MacPhail, Antigonish; Theresa (Doug) Grace, St. Andrews; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sister Mary Elaine, brother William, and sister-in-law Rowena.
Visitation, 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. Friday in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish. Funeral Mass Saturday at 11 am in Immaculate Conception Church, Heatherton. Rev. Charles Cameron presiding. Burial in the Parish Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society Nova Scotia.
