Obituary of Ruth Marie Chisholm

Ruth Marie Chisholm, 88, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, formerly of Antigonish, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Valley View Center for Nursing Care, Goshen, NY. Born in Antigonish May 17, 1926, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Sarah (MacEachern) Chisholm. Ruth graduated from M.S.B., St. Martha’s School of Nursing in 1948 and earned her B. Sc form St. F.X in 1949. She joined the Grail Movement and left for Africa with them where she worked until 1979. She did nursing work in hospital in Kampala, Uganda. Surviving are sisters; Sr. Isabel, CND, Sydney, Sr. Jean, CSM, Sr. Mary, CSM, Ann, all of Antigonish, Frances (Frank) McCarthy, Lynnfield, MA, Mora (Bruce) LePage, Lewiston, ME, brothers Leo (Kay), Antigonish, Drew (Pam), Ladysmith, BC, sister-in-law Blanche, Ben Eoin, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister Elizabeth, brothers; John, Lauchie and Joe. Memorial Service will be March 29, 2015 in Cornwall-on-Hudson.
