Obituary of Marcella Marie MacDonald

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Marcella Marie (Mills) MacDonald, 72, of Fraser’s Grant, Antigonish County, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, on Monday, April 23, 2018. Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Lauchie and Theresa (Rogers) Mills.

Surviving are son Leo (April), Beechville, brothers Angus (Anne), Jimmy, (Diane), sisters Mary Theresa MacNeil, Agnes Myette, Marjorie, (Bob) Ferguson, Jean (Benny) TenBrinke, Jeanette, and Annie (Darrell) Maxwell, sister-in-law Wilma Mills, and aunt Agnes Chisholm.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband John A., brother L.J., brothers-in-law Mike MacNeil, Bill Myette and a brother in infancy.

Marcella was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Parish and a dedicated  40 year member of the CWL. She took great pride in her home and always welcomed friends and relatives for a cup of tea. A woman of great faith, Marcella always saw the good in everyone and every situation. She will be greatly missed by many.

Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Wednesday, April 25 in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00am Thursday, April 26  in Immaculate Conception Church, Heatherton, Rev. Andrew Gillies presiding, burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only, donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
