Obituary of Claire Grace
Claire Marie (MacDonald) Grace – 87, of Antigonish/Ottawa, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2018, in Elizabeth Bruyere Hospital, Ottawa, with her loving family by her side. Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Murdoch and late Mary Belle (Cameron) MacDonald. Claire was raised in Beaver Meadow and had many fond memories of her time growing up on the farm. Claire enjoyed skating and through this, she met her husband, John. Claire worked at the Angus L. MacDonald Library at St.FX for over 38 years. Mom also loved to downhill ski and had a lot of fun at the Keppoch and the family’s many ski trips. Grannie loved to spend time with Riley and Mairi and was a proud spectator at their activities. Claire was a caring wife, wonderful mom and mother-in-law, devoted Grannie, sister/sister in law, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Kimberley (Richard) Pinsonneault, adored grandson, Riley, and treasured granddaughter, Mairi, all of Ottawa, ON; brother, Donald (Elaine), Ontario; brother-in-law, John D. MacDonald, Antigonish; brothers-in-law: Jerome (late Marg) Grace, Roddie (late Shirley) Grace, and John Finnegan, sisters-in- law: Bertha (George) McCabe, Theresa (late JB) MacDonald, Margaret (Pius) MacNeil, Kay Grace (Frank Cash), Phil (Greg) Campbell, Cecilia Grace, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, John; infant daughter, Mary Catherine; brothers, Rod (late Myrt) and John (late Mary), and sisters Catherine (late Edward) Farrell and Isabel MacDonald; brothers-in-law, Donald Grace and Bernard Grace, and sister-in-law, Marie Finnegan. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in MacIsaac Funeral
Home, 61 Pleasant Street, Antigonish. Funeral 11 a.m. Monday in St. Ninian’s Cathedral. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to the R.K. MacDonald Guest House.
