Annie Grant

Obituary of Annie Jeanette Grant

It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Annie J Grant. Annie passed away peacefully Friday, June 14, 2019, in the palliative care unit in St Martha`s Hospital, Antigonish.

Born in Alder Point, Cape Breton, on October 20, 1938. she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Paquet) Leblanc. Annie lived in Alder Point, Ontario and Annapolis Valley before settling in St. Francis Harbour with her husband Neil and then Antigonish for the last number of years.

In her earlier years, Annie worked for Department of Transportation, Canso fish plant and the crab plant. Annie loved music and dancing and most Saturday nights would be seen on the dance floor or enjoying a kitchen party, singing. She loved to carry on! If you knew Annie she always had the last say or laugh. But her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren. She loved watching them grow up and, as she would say, "my handsome man (Brandon) and my beautiful girl (Breanna)".

Annie is survived by sons, Derrick (Denise) Grant, Antigonish and Sandy Grant, St Francis Harbour, her grandchildren Brandon and Breanna Grant, Antigonish; sisters, Theresa and Marie; brothers, William and Winston; fur baby Max and good friend Dan. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank Dr. Rice, Dr. Fraser and the nurses for all the compassion and excellent care they provided to Annie.
