To Bruce and family: very sorry with hearing of Mary’s passing. She was a wonderful woman, and always a joy to be around. She and Joe were an integral part of Millie’s and my life for over 60 years, and will always be in my thoughts and prayers. Jeff and Sylvianne, Jill, Lee Ann and I had planned to attend today’s funeral but the weather conditions and forecast led us to cancel the trip to Antigonish.

Bruce, I am so very sorry for your loss. I remember your mom use to come visit my mom at home when I was little. She always called me “Darling.” One day, I saw her coming up the driveway and called to my mom, “Mommy, Darling’s here!” So, she was always Mary “Darling” any time mom brought her up in conversation. My thoughts are with you and your family at this time.

Bruce and Ann...I was very sorry to hear of the loss of Mary. Although I only knew her to say hello, I always thought she was such a kind woman, and so very pretty. When I used to see your Mom and Dad around town, I always thought of them as such a nice couple. I enjoyed the slideshow you posted...especially the photo of Mary holding a line of fish (which, no doubt, she caught herself!). I know you will treasure all your happy memories of her.

Ever since we arrived in Antigonish in the late 70's Mary and Joe have been dear friends . They were part of a foursome of couples which included Willena and Gordon Penny, Marie and Austin O'Keefe and ourselves, Cyril and Doreen Smith. We celebrated Anniversaries, Birthdays, weekends together (and we partied too!!). For the most part, children were l included in our weekend get-together where we cooked meals together, swam at the cottage at Lock Katrine or drove to Salmon River to view the property. There was always something to do and Mary and Joe were usually a part of it!!.In short they were family to us.
Later in our relationship with Mary and Joe we enjoyed so many evenings playing 'kitchen Bridge". We were always welcomed.
Along with good times, we also shared sorrow. I remember how devastated Mary was (as were we ) at the sudden death of Marie O'Keefe then Registrar at the Coady Institute All in our group suffered at this terrible loss.
In the past years I visited Mary at the RK, usually in the evening, as she was a night owl. She was always so glad to see me. When my husband Cyril came that was even better. Mary suffered with Tinnitus as this was not only annoying but isolating for her. Yet she was ever patient.
Mary was well cared for by Bruce and Ann and this was always appreciated by Mary. She valued her grand children and would tell me about Sarah who called her from Calgary.
I join with my husband, Cyril in expressing my deep condolences to Bruce, Scott and Angela as well as to Mary's extended family. We will Miss Mary, a valued, kind and loving friend.
Doreen and Cyril Smith.

My condolences to you Bruce, Scott, Angela and your families for the loss of your mother. I can reasonably say that I knew our Auntie Mary as well as any of our Migliaccio cousins, having been brought to Nova Scotia by my mother Rita to visit her, Uncle Joe and you since I was a toddler! I will always be grateful to her and Uncle Joe for allowing me to stay with you during my first year at St. FX. Will miss talking to her over the telephone and seeing her during my visits to Nova Scotia but I know she is now with Uncle Joe, her sisters and brothers.
Steve & family

You always meant so much to me and never let me down. You were a soft place to land, a haven in the storms of my life.
I’m happy to know that you are met with great joy on the other side and look forward to being with you again
