I wish I could be there today to help celebrate Allister's life with you all. Velma, Colin, Catherine, AG, Tessie and Allan may the meany great memories fill the huge void that he is leaving. I spent some time yesterday thinking about the many great interactions I had with Allister over the years. He was always a treat to run into. The Christmas Eve chowder was awesome! The last time I saw Allister was at JImtown in June. My sister Cyndy and I had dropped into chat with Catherine. We all shared a few laughs...I hope the two of them are doing that right now.

Velma, Maureen and I offer our condolences to you and your family on Allister's passing. We have many fond memories of Arisaig summers during the 70's when we would visit Joan and Vince. Their friendship with you and Allister allowed us to be invited to your summer parties where you and Allister made sure everyone had a great time. We especially enjoyed the all-day clam bakes. Allister knew how to live life to the fullest. We are sad to hear of his passing.

Terese, Velma & family. My condolences on Allister's passing. I remember when Allister would stop by our home at the Lake. He had great Liberal Party chats with our dad. My father had great respect and admiration for Allister.
I enjoyed the opportunity to chat with Allister on several occasions at the Highland Games parade gathering at Mary and Donnie's home. He told great stories and had a contagious sense of humour.
May you all find peace and comfort in the months ahead, cherish the wonderful memories, Allister will be greatly missed.
God Bless.

I am so sorry for your loss. I will cherish all the fond memories of gatherings with the Allister's....our second family, Christmas eve chowder,lobster boils, end of summer clam bakes,back field baseball games, horseshoe tournaments with the Chisholm girls, ski trips to smokey. He definitely added a lively spark to all these events. Allister was such a true steadfast friend to us, especially mom and dad, and I will miss him dearly.

Dear Velma, Kathleen, Joan, Colin, Catherine, AG, Terese, and Allan;
On behalf of the Sims family at Jimtown, Chris, Ellen, Paul, John, Bain and Ron were very saddened to hear about Allister's death.
Allister was a very important part of the Sims family, going back to when my mother, Patsy Chisholm-Sims, and the MacDonald clan spent many wonderful summers at the Jimtown cottage.
It was always a great opportunity to get caught up with Allister when he and Velma would come down to Jimtown to visit with Catherine and Duncan. Allister and Kathleen have always been our "historians' about summer life at Jimtown.
The Sims clan thoughts and prayers are with you all during this challenging and emotional time. Allister will be greatly missed.
fondly,
Chris Sims

To the 'Allister MacDonald' Family:
Was saddened today to learn of Allister's recent passing and regret will be unable to pay our respects personaly but send along heartfelt sympathy and condolences to all the family. This past year would have been my 66th consecutive years at the 'Games' and for many of those years our reunion on Main St. During the parade,but missed due to health reasons.We enjoyed many good stories,especially at Roadbuliders and Transportation get togethers,even though on 'different sides of the political fences' it never interfered with the friendships and getting things done.He will be long remembered for his contributions to Antigonish and the Province.In the Spirit of Scottish Memories I send along 'a Silent Piping Lament "Flowers of the Forrest" dedicated to those memories!
Sincerely,
JackMacIsaac
