I had the pleasure of sharing a decade on the Softball Canada Board with Donald. One day I found a t-shirt that fit his personality perfectly. I presented him with the shirt and for years afterward whenever we talked on the phone he would giggle and recite the slogan on the shirt. “WHY AM I HERE? WHERE ARE WE GOING? WHERE ARE THE COOKIES?
Taken too soon, Rest In Peace my friend.

Donald R will be missed so much by his friends and family.
My father Blaise will find all major sports just a bit more dull now, knowing that he won't have the pleasure of cheering for "whoever has the better chance of beating Boston".
Of course our house has zillions of DR memories. For me, it was the phone calls. He called our house so often. He always took the time to tell me that I was really great at answering the phone, and had a friendly, clear voice. Lots of practice I guess. ;-) Also, 100% of the time the power went out, our phone rang within 30 seconds. "Ya got any powa? You should give Nova Scotia Powa a call." Every time. I think the next power outage in Arisaig will feel just a little "off". :-(
DR will be missed.
Condolences to his sisters, family and friends.

Donald R was a “one of a kind” human being. A genuine soul who you could always depend on as a colleague and friend. He will be sorely missed. When he was created, our good Lord threw away the mold.
Donald only had one fault and that was he was a bit of a sloppy eater. You could tell what he had for breakfast, lunch and supper just by looking at the front of the shirt.
May God bless him and his family. We need more human beings just like Donald was.

I've known Donald R for over 40 years. Our birthdays almost collided; his was July 28 and mine July 29 but I'm a year older. For the past number of years he would phone me to wish me the best on my birthday. I'll miss your call this year, Donald, but will be thinking of you with fond memories. RIP

On behalf of the Softball Canada family please accept our sincere condolences to Donald R.'s family. He has left us too soon.
I don't think there is a person in Softball who had more friends across the country than Donald R. He was well loved throughout Canada - east to west, south to north. So many people have such great memories of him and all that he contributed to our sport.
We were all fortunate to have him in our lives.

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Donald R. He was a fixture around the ballfields of Antigonish in the 1980’s in his role as AGR President. Had many good chats with him back then commiserating about the Bruins. I will always remember him walking toward me with that mischievous grin on his face. A great man who will be missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing him.

I had the pleasure of working with Donald R. when he was on the Softball Canada Board, in my position as accountant.
I will always remember him as a very caring and kind man. He always made sure that any new people within the Softball family were introduced to the family members. His joyful smile will be missed but you can be assured he is looking down on the family and will be there in your time of need.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Dear Sandra and Susan:
I am so sorry for the great loss of Donald but I have no doubt that he's with your mom and dad and at peace.
Donald was such a kind, generous and gentle person and interestingly enough
all of my siblings remember Donald and raved about him stating that he was such a gentleman!
I wish there were words to convey my sentiment but at times like this words fall short.
Know that you are in my heart with prayers, love and good thoughts,
Denise

I remember the times he used to come home to Boston fo Christmas and he would take me to the old Boston Garden to catch a Bruins game and get a piece of gear from the pro shop. After that we would look at the huge Christmas tree because it came from Nova Scotia. He would always be taking me to eat food and to get treats. Those are found memories in my life as a kid with him. He showed me how to get around Boston. He remembered all the nooks and crannies even after not living there for decades. Donald will be missed by many and especially his two loving sister Sandra and Susan who’ve done so much for him.

I will always remember "Danald R" as a very kind, gentle man who gave much of his time to the community of Antigonish. He was always up for a conversation and had a great, hearty laugh. Big Berk always spoke very highly of him as well. Condolences from the Camerons.

Donald R will be missed by many, including some of us in Yukon, Canada. I remember with fondness the times Donald would land and Grandma Annie's house for a short visit and always have a peasant word for me. He visited Jill and I in Whitehorse about 10 years ago when he was up for a softball event. He brought our new born son Oliver plenty of Patriots gear. No surprise there, as he loved all things to so with Boston pro sports. RIP Donald R. You will be missed by many.
