Obituary of Hughie MacInnis

Hugh A. (Hughie) MacInnis, 75, of Arisaig passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 in St. Martha's Regional Hospital. Born in Antigonish he was a son of the late Gillis and Catherine (MacDonald) MacInnis. Hughie was a lifelong resident of Arisaig. In his younger years he worked as a mechanic at Antigonish Motors. Later he worked in the fishing industry in Arisaig. He is survived by sisters, Mary, Arisaig; Simone Scott (Percy Mason), Lower Sackville; Bonnie (late Peter) Gillis, Pleasant Valley; brothers, Colin (Nadine), Arisaig; Bernard (Margie), Maryvale, sister-in-law, Mary, Arisaig and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Beverly MacPherson, Carol Anne Currie, and brother Stevie. At Hugh's request, there will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass 11 am Saturday, St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Arisaig, Rev. Charles Cameron presiding. Burial of ashes at a later date.
