Obituary of Michelle MacDonald-Green

Carmel "Michelle" MacDonald-Green, age 50, formerly of Williams Point, Antigonish County was born into eternal life on Feb. 27th, 2020 in Ontario.  Michelle is survived by her beloved twin daughters: Emma and Frances Green of Oshawa, whom she loved dearly, and Bill Green.  She is the daughter of Rona MacDonald of Williams Point and the late Doug MacDonald and sister of Fr. Douglas MacDonald, of the Diocese of Antigonish and granddaughter of late Martina MacPherson.  

Michelle got her start in highland dancing, and then singing in the children’s choir at St Ninian’s Cathedral.  She excelled as an honours student in school, and loved to sing, dance, and act - participating in numerous plays and dramas in high school and university.  Michelle received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in drama from Dalhousie.  While at university she was selected to perform internationally, and met Princess Margaret.  

She moved to Toronto, where she performed in live theatre for a number of years, including Forever Plaid.  Later she managed a clothing business, but then returned to her acting passion by studying at York University and University of Toronto where she attained a Bachelor of Education and Master’s Degree in theatre through the arts.  She went on to teach school through drama for a number of years in Toronto.  

A funeral mass will take place on Monday, March 16th at 11:00 am in St. Ninian’s Cathedral with her brother, Rev. Doug MacDonald, presiding.  Mass offerings for the repose of the soul of Michelle MacDonald are encouraged, and donations may be made to a mental health organization of your choice.  Please remember Michelle and her family in your prayers, especially at the celebration of the Eucharist. www.MacIsaacs.ca
