MacPherson, David Hugh (Sittler) of Arisaig, passed away at home on August 14, 2020 at the age of 62. He was a son of the late Mike and Kaye (Beaton) MacPherson.
David was a kind and loving husband, father and brother. He had a great love of nature, animals and farming. Always a hardworker, he found a peacefulness in the woods. He spent over 35 years fishing in Arisaig Harbour.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Janette MacDonald, and raised his two sons as a single dad when they were very young. His greatest joy was watching them grow up and celebrating their achievements.
He will be remembered for his uncanny sense of humour and his great story telling ability. Family and friends appreciated his yearly updates on the history of the Frenchman's Barn.
David was involved with his community and was active in minor softball, always giving back to the kids. He played softball for many years with the Arisaig Fencebusters. He liked reading about history and loved talking baseball, forever a dedicated Leafs and Steelers fan. We will miss his kind, gentle nature and his beautiful smile.
David is survived by his two sons Lawrence (Ashley), Arisaig and Lewis, Cold Lake, Alberta; sisters Mary (Jerome) MacEachern, Moira and Karen (late Alex) Chisholm; brothers Bill (Brenda), Allan (Hughena), Peter (Debbie), Michael (Cathy), Beaton (Tena), Daniel (Eileen) as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a sister Eugena Bernadette.
