Obituary of John Ronald MacLean

John Ronald MacLean, 76, passed away April 16, 2016, at home in Antigonish. Born in Antigonish on January 31, 1940 he was a son of the late James and Catherine MacLean of Hawthorne Street, Antigonish. John worked primarily in the construction industry and later with the Dept. of Highways. John was best known to his family, friends and neighbours for his guitar playing and singing and card games. John enjoyed summers, fishing and outdoors, with his wife Anne in their cottage at Xanadu. John is survived by his wife of 50 years Anne; daughter Shannon; four sons, Paul, Bryan, Sean and Trevor and 14 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Jim and foster brothers and sister, John L MacDonald, Murdoch MacDonald and Mary Margaret Rowe. To celebrate John’s life, a visitation will take place 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday, April 18 at MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St, Antigonish. Funeral Mass 11 am, Tuesday April 19, at St. Ninian's Cathedral.
