Obituary of Mary Golda Cleary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Golda Cleary, 95, of Antigonish, on August 7, 2021, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital.

Born in Fairmont on March 28, 1926, she was a daughter of the late John James and Minetta Mary (Campbell) Cameron.  

She spent a great deal of her life raising eight children and serving her church and  community.  Her kindness, thoughtfulness and humour will be missed by all.

She is survived by three sons, Joseph (Joanne), Michael (Cathy) and George (Christine), four daughters Mary (Charles) Lowe, Rose Anne (Lloyd) Christie, Margaret (John) Foreman, Marian (Christopher) Chaisson; 18 grandchildren and  many great grandchildren.  One brother Placide Cameron, and one sister, Kaye Smith; 

She was predeceased by her husband Ambrose; daughter Evelyn; eight brothers, Jim, Alex, John Clare, John Hugh, Kerase, Thane, Reggie, Leslie; six sisters, Margaret, Gladys, Noreen, Minetta, Thelma and Elda.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 10th from 6-8 pm in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St. Funeral Mass 11am Wednesday, August 11th in St. Ninian Cathedral, Covid-19 protocols will be in place.
