Sending sincere condolences to Johneen, Ray and Clare. Joyce was my godmother and I was very proud of that, she said it as it was and was a true and loyal Antigonisher. Rest in peace dear Joyce.

Thank you for posting, Catherine! She certainly did say it like it was... whether you liked it or not. LOL! Whenever I'm in Antigonish, I take a swing by Saint Mary's Street to look at my grandparents' house. I've got fond memories of time spent there and I remember spending time at your house with all of the Colin Rs. xo Slainte, Johneen.

Please accept my sincere sympathy on the loss of mother and grandmother
I first met Joyce when, in 1953, I joined the Canadian Bank of Commerce, and we had remained friends ever since. Although our phone calls were not frequent, they were filled with laughter, bits of wit and wisdom and, above all, reminiscences. The memories of those conversations,I shall not soon forget.
Margaret MacGregor-MacDonald.

So sorry to hear this. I looked so forward to Joyce and Bob and Johneen’s arrival on St Mary’s Street and my visits to Bayfield always made my summers special. I feel like I lost a bit of my childhood. Sending condolences

Hi Janet! Thank you so much for your post and your condolences! You were such an important and memorable part of my childhood. I finally learned to duck my head in the water when you chucked me in when I was four when we were at Bayfield. LOL! You and Marlene always made time for me, a little annoying kid. Those are such great memories for me. *hugs*

So shocked and saddened to read about Joyce’s passing! Visited with her in Parkstone, several times, as my sister, Ann House , also resided there. It was so much fun to discuss Antigonish and the old folks we both recalled, both good and bad.
As my sister had dementia, she reminded the people who did not know her that she was a very special person.
For that, I will never forget Joyce.
May she Rest In Peace!
