Obituary of Mary Anna MacDonald

Mary Anna MacDonald of Arisaig passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 31, 2021 in the Highcrest Sherbrooke Nursing Home, Sherbrooke. Born in Arisaig on December 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John Allen and Mary Margaret (MacDonald) MacDonald.

Mary Anna grew up and spent her life in Arisaig. Mom loved, and was dedicated to, her family, her faith and the Arisaig community. She was extremely proud of everyone and felt like a queen at family gatherings. Being raised as an only child she took great pleasure in the fact that she had a large family.

She is survived children Ian (Colleen), Theresa (Arden) Thompson, Linda (Wayne) LeBlanc all of Arisaig, Zeno (Mary Anna), Halifax, Florence (Jeff) MacDonald-Bain,Tsawwassen, BC, Gerald (Carrie), Lindsay, ON, 18 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Zeno, son Carl and grandson Michael.

Visitation will be held from 6-9 pm on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St. Funeral Mass 11 am Wednesday, November 3 in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Arisaig, Rev. Colin MacKinnon presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to Highcrest Sherbrooke (etransfer to hmanthorne@high-crest.com or call 902-522-2147). Please note: Covid-19 proof of double vaccination along with a valid photo ID are required at visitation and funeral, masks are mandatory as well.  www.MacIsaacs.ca
