Obituary of Donna Marie Lydon
Lydon (MacIsaac), Donna– Antigonish, NS
On April 26, 1948, Donna breezed into our world with a burst of energy, an energy which ever ebbed throughout her life time. She arose each day to a prayer and a hot cup of tea which was enjoyed in the calm of nature in her beloved garden. She rejoiced in the beauty of each passing day, recognizing that every day was always better than the day before. Every day just became more exciting and fulfilling.
Donna’s desire to help and assist others (CARE Van activities, Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Red Cross, Dr. John Hugh Gillis Drama department, canvassing for many organizations, volunteering for community and university events) was supported by her husband and soul mate, Jack Gary Lydon with whom she shared 45 wonderful years of marriage. Donna and Jack were most fortunate to have been granted a much cherished daughter Kimberly Ann (Steven MacIsaac) of Antigonish who completed their happiness and who also gave Donna her pride and joy, her most precious and caring Grandson, Phoenix Lydon-Ryan.
Donna was the daughter of late Mary Kate (MacPherson) and the late Angus MacIsaac. She leaves behind her sister Teresa, brothers, Huntley (Margie); Lauchie (Betty); Gerald (Margaret), all from Antigonish; her in-laws, Floyd (Helen), Ottawa; Diana (Glenn Gifford), Dallas ,Texas; Allan, Calgary and Janet and Leo Duggan, Upper South River. She was pre-deceased by her parents; her brother D.G. MacIsaac; her beloved sister Ann Marie MacKinnon, and her mother and father in-law, Tom and Marjorie Lydon.
Visitation will take place 2-4 and 7-9; Thursday July 7, 2016 at MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St. Antigonish. Funeral at 11 am, Friday July 8, 2016 at St. Ninian’s Cathedral, Rev. Donald MacGillivray presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.
