Obituary of Janet Ann Fraser

Janet Perro Fraser, of St. Andrews passed away August 6th, peacefully, at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home surrounded by her family. Janet was born on September 23, 1923 in Antigonish to the late Robert and Margaret Boyd Chisholm. She graduated from Teachers College in 1940 and taught in Malignant Cove and Bayfield schools. In 1968 she graduated from St Francis Xavier University with her B.E.D. after which she taught at Braemore School until her retirement. She was a member of St Andrews C.W.L. for 50 years and was also a member of the Oak and Owl Club of St. Andrews. She is survived by her sister Almira MacPherson of Hamilton Ontario, daughters Barbara(Joe) Poole, Hamilton, Linda(John) Juurlink, Antigonish, Almira (Bill) Garvie, Marylee Perro Antigonish, Joan Fraser Victoria B.C. Sons Robert (Sandra) Victoria) Bruce (Maria) Toronto, Jim Fraser Toronto, Jim (Terri) St. Andrews; sister-in-law Sr. Teresa Perro C.S.M., Bethany; as well as her 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Janet was predeceased by her husbands Archie Perro and Bernard Fraser; brothers Leo and Robert; sisters Mary Chisholm and Claire Chisholm; and infant son Richard Gerard. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7 - 9 pm on Friday August 7th, 2015; at Funeral arrangements are under the direction of MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant Street, Antigonish. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrews church in St. Andrews, Saturday August 8th, 2015 at 10 am with Reverend Charles Cameron presiding. Burial following at the Parish Cemetery. Donations may be made to Palliative Care St Martha's Hospital.
