Obituary of Brian Joseph Bond
Brian Joseph Bond, 64, of Pomquet, Antigonish County, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at home. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Austin and Mary (Gavin) Bond.
Brian was a fisherman based out of Ballantyne’s Cove, Cape George, since he was a young man, captaining his latest boat, Seacrest II. He was also a heavy equipment operator for various construction firms in the area. Brian enjoyed spending time with his family and loved the outdoors, whether it was playing with his beloved grandchildren, checking on his boat, taking his tractor for a spin or building his lobster traps.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Monique (Doiron), children Blain (Carla), Pomquet,Steve (Alison MacDougall), Pomquet, Marie-Hélène (Christopher Redden), Clarenville, NL, Natalie (Stephen) Gaudon, Okotoks AB, David, Pomquet, grandchildren Paul, Maria, Joseph and Owen Bond, brothers and sisters Anne MacEachern, Jean (Dusty) Roach, Margie MacInnis, Edgar, Kevin, Gavin, Dale and Molly Bond and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Linda.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish. Funeral Mass 11:00am Tuesday in St. Croix Church, Pomquet, Rev. Gary MacPherson presiding.
