Obituary of Margaret Mary Sauber

Margaret Mary Sauber, 78, of Crockett Court, Antigonish, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 11, 2016 at home. Born in Pomquet, she was a daughter of the late John C and Natalie (Boudreau) Melanson. Prior to her marriage she worked as a Registered Nursing Assistant. After her marriage to Sgt. Thomas Sauber, Margaret became a devoted military wife moving with Tom to his postings in France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Egypt and Cyprus. Margaret was a compassionate person who freely helped those who needed it the most, she will be missed. Surviving are sister, Sarah Melanson, Antigonish, brothers Joseph (Marie) Melanson, Pomquet and William (Doris) Melanson, Manitoulin Island and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Sgt. Thomas Sauber and sisters Ethel DeYoung, Yvonne Blinn and Dorothy Bayne. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Friday in St. Ninian’s Cathedral, Rev. Donald MacGillivray presiding, reception to follow at St. Ninian Place, lower level. Burial in St. Croix Cemetery, Pomquet. Donations to The War Amps or the Royal Canadian Legion.
