Mary Lavoie (formerly Phinney/Kelly), aged 57, passed away in St. Martha's Regional Hospital in Antigonish on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Antigonish and growing up in Glencoe, Guysborough, NS, she was a daughter of the late James and Sarah Kelly.
Recently married on July 23, 2023, Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had a huge heart, and was always trying to make people laugh. Mary loved the outdoors. When she was able, she adored going for walks, geocaching, and exploring beaches. She always enjoyed watching and taking photos of sunsets and rainbows, and she thoroughly enjoyed listening to frogs and the rain falling. She especially enjoyed her visits and road trips with her best friend and sister, Donalda.
She is survived by her husband, and Royal Canadian Navy Veteran, Luc Lavoie; five children; two step-children; eight grandchildren; five sisters; six brothers; as well as in-laws, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 18th from 4-8 pm in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant Street, Antigonish. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
