Sending my deepest condolences to all of Marie's loved ones. Having grown up next door to the McClellans in Antigonish, thinking Anne was my third big sister, and spending so much time enjoying Marie's hospitality and generosity (including many a day swimming for hours in the enviable backyard pool), I can attest to the fact that Marie was an incredibly kind, thoughtful, and intelligent woman. I always appreciated how truly interested she was in how you were doing...her face would light up with anticipation as she asked, then waited, for you to tell her about whatever was happening in your life. She especially appreciated a story to make her laugh...she always found such joy in every moment, and would spread that joy to whomever was near by, filling the space with her infectious laughter. You will be missed, Marie, but you will also be remembered with love. Becca xo

I first met Marie while attending our centering prayer group at Bethany. She was beautiful and I came to discover she knew me as a child growing up in Maryvale. She had lots of stories to tell. To be around Marie was heavenly , a gift to all who knew her.

Sending sincere condolences to Marie’s family. She was a beautiful lady, always so kind and caring of everyone and everything around her. I always enjoyed chatting and catching up as we met on different occasions. I inquired about her and thought of her often since she moved. May she now rest peacefully with God and all her loved ones who have gone before her.

When we first moved to Antigonish in 1975, we lived across the street and down a bit from Marie. She visited us as newcomers and made us feel so welcome! It was always a pleasure to meet her and be greeted with her warm smile whenever and wherever our paths crossed. She was truly a grace-filled woman. Rest in peace, Marie.

To talk with Marie was to learn. She was ever so well read and engaging, and did she ever remember what she read. I have many happy memories of being in her company, talking and thinking about what was and what was to come. She’ll remain a model for me of graceful aging and of lifelong learning. Rest in peace, Marie.

Dear Anne and Charles; I have very fond memories of your mom as been a kind, compassionate person with a great sense of humor which she and your dad exhibited to me many times during, and after my stay at your home in Antigonish while attending St.FX. Even though she could have slipped some tidbits to my parents of a few shenanigans I pulled, she abided by the mantra ‘ what goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas!’ of which I was truly grateful. Every time I would see your mom as years passed, she would always have that great smile and a humorous story. May her memory be a blessing to you,

Dear Anne, Throughout her life, among her many qualities your sweet mom has been loving, kind, intelligent and strong. It has been so heartbreaking that unfortunately her last several years were severely impacted by dementia. Yet, throughout this very difficult phase your steadfast devotion to her and to ensuring her best care possible has been truly admirable and moving -- a true blessing for your mom. And, I believe that at least on some level she has been as appreciative and proud of you as ever. Now, dear friend, until we can be together again, please know that I am with you in heart and spirit, to accompany you through this difficult time albeit from afar. Sending you heartfelt sympathy, love and lots of big hugs.
Jennifer, and always Phil. xoxoxo
