Obituary of Anne Cecilia Florence MacPhail
Anne Cecila Florence MacPhail, 86, formerly of College Street, Antigonish, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024, with family by her side, in the RK MacDonald Nursing Home.
Anne was born on August 10,1937 in Fraser’s Grant and was the daughter of the late John and Christina (Punch) MacPhail. Anne was devoted to her Catholic faith and one of her fondest memories was her trip to Sainte-Anne de Beaupre, Quebec. Anne’s heart was deeply rooted in her family ties, and she particularly cherished her role as an aunt above all. She enjoyed her time with her nieces and nephews, always ensuring that their outings around town were filled with special treats. Anne had a generous nature and always enjoyed giving rather than receiving.
Anne worked in dining services at StFX for many years and was a dedicated volunteer at the RK MacDonald Nursing Home for many years.
Anne is survived by sisters: Jean Grant, Ontario and Theresa Grace, Antigonish, sisters-in-law Anne MacPhail, Theresa MacPhail and Donna Chisholm and many nieces and nephews.
