Obituary of Daniel James Cogger

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Daniel James Cogger, age 70, of Sylvan Valley, on Thursday, March 28, 2024 in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Dan was the third child of seven of Louis and Ann (Graves) Cogger and husband to his wife of 50 years, Bonnie.

Dan grew up in Antigonish, spending most of his youth on his grandfather's farm on the Old South River Road. Dan was an avid outdoorsman who cherished spending time with his grandchildren, Hunter, Ethan and Zoey. He was a long time member of UBC Local 1392/83.

Dan was predeceased by his parents, brother Butch (Louis) and sister-in-law Sandra (MacDonald) Cogger.

Dan is survived by his wife Bonnie, son Tyler (Kendra), grandchildren Hunter, Ethan and Zoey; sisters Linda (Karl); Sharon (Gussie); Colleen (John); Lori (Stan); brother Fred (Anne Marie); best friends Geordie and Ticker as well as his nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Monday, April 1, 2024 in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant Street. Funeral Mass will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday in St. Ninian Cathedral, Antigonish, Reverend Danny MacLennan presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Martha's Regional Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care Unit. Family flowers only please.
