Obituary of Lorraine Eleanor Blacklock

It is with deep sadness, that the family of Lorraine Blacklock, age 84, announce her passing on Thursday, May 30, 2024 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish, Nova Scotia. 

Lorraine will be remembered for her welcoming spirit and caring ways, and her fondness of gatherings that brought together her friends and family. Many will recall her willingness to help those in need through her unwavering commitment to community. Lorraine put those in her life first and always had a smile or kind words to brighten the days of others. 

She is predeceased by her husband Gary, infant son Paul, sister Lillian, daughter Deborah Leigh, and grandson Joe. Lorraine is survived by her children, Craig (Sylvia) Blacklock, Enfield and Janice (Andrew) Foran, Antigonish. Nana will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Greg, Joss, Emma, Meg, Alec, Zac, and her six great grandchildren. 

The family would like to express their gratitude and sincerest thanks to the wonderful staff of the Palliative Care Unit at St. Martha’s Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. 

Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held on July 2, 2024, at 12:15 pm in St. Ignatius Church, Bedford, Nova Scotia.  A private-family interment will occur at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lorraine may be sent to the Palliative Care Unit, c/o St. Martha’s Hospital Foundation or your charity of choice.
