Obituary of Ralph Chisholm
It is with deep sorrow that the family of Harold Ralph Chisholm announce his peaceful passing on June 13, 2024, at the age of 83 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Gaye, of 57 years; children, Roderick (Paula) Chisholm, Blaire (Joshua) Chisholm; and grandchildren, Katelyn Chisholm and Brynn Chisholm-Murdock.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Harold Roderick and Dolly Chisholm; sister, Norma Jean Wheeler (Patrick). His father and grandfather were respected as having served for many years as Antigonish Town Clerks.
Ralph was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. The family attended St. Ninian’s Cathedral and Ralph was a solo soprano in the Marian Boy Choir. He was a noted athlete in hockey, baseball, and basketball. He attended St. Francis Xavier University and Dalhousie Law School. He came to Edmonton in 1964 and joined the Law Firm of Bloor and Sim. He was appointed to the Provincial Court of Alberta in 1976 and served as a Judge in the Criminal Court for 35 years.
He was an avid golf and tennis player and enjoyed many vacations in Maui, Hawaii.
There will be a graveside service Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 4:00 pm in St. Ninian's Cemetery, Antigonish.
The family would like to thank the Canterbury Foundation Memory Care Unit and the staff of the Royal Alexandra Hospital for their compassionate care.
