Obituary of Philip Earl Williams

Please share a memory of Philip to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Philip Earl Williams (1943 – 2024), a master heavy equipment mechanic and adventurer, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024, at Dunwoody Village, Newtown Square, PA, USA. He was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada, and is survived by his children Paul (Krista) Williams, Nicole Williams (Florindo Marques) and Shannon Williams (Drew Chambers), his six grandchildren Eric and Alisha Williams, Madison and Taylor Smith, and Alexander and Christopher Chambers and his brother Barry Williams.  He is predeceased by his wife Eileen Williams (nee MacDonald) and brother Robert Williams.

Philip's love for all things mechanical started in Antigonish at the Chrysler dealership in 1960, he later co-owned Germain and Williams Trucking. His work in Waste Management in Naples, Florida, is remembered well, where he was renowned for his commitment to safety and work ethic. He left his indelible mark on the industry by mentoring a countless number of individuals in his lifetime at his employers in Hawaii, North Carolina and Florida.

After retiring in 2010, Philip curiously pursued travel, fun, music, stories, and a hearty glass of wine or scotch.  Philip was a family man and an adventurer, traveling to stay near his children and grandchildren “from coast to coast.”  He was always eager to share his experiences, his eclectic tastes and favorite movies like Disney's "Robin Hood," “The Godfather,” "Amadeus," and "The Blues Brothers”.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the memories he created and the lives he touched.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm on Thursday, August 1, 2024 in MacIsaac Funeral Home. A family graveside service and burial will be held at 4:00 pm in Glen Bard Cemetery, James River.
