Obituary of Sean Keay

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Hilus 'Sean' Keay, on September 18th, 2024, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish, following a very brief illness.

Born May 29th, 1961 in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Hilus and Bernice (Rogers) Keay.

Sean worked in the trucking industry for over 45 years. In his spare time Sean enjoyed collecting WWII model planes, watching Star Trek and loved rock music and always had the best record/CD collection; but most of all, he loved being down at the family cottage on Farm Road in Heatherton.

He is survived by his wife Joann (MacIntosh) Keay; daughter Jessica (René) Melanson; two grandchildren Jase and Elise Melanson; brothers Gary, Vancouver BC; Clinton (Lisa), New Glasgow; Jimmy (Lindsay) Antigonish; sister Rosemary (Hughie) MacDougall, Antigonish; father and mother-in-law Bill and Bertha MacIntosh; as well as several nieces and nephews; Joann’s brothers and sisters, along with aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Hilus and mother Bernice and niece Shana Keay.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm on Monday Sept. 23, 2024 in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant Street. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
